My Apologies

Unfortunately I have received notice that I will be working Tuesday and Thursday of the first week of class. Due to this I will be unable to attend the class for the first week. I had requested these days off and had stated that I was unable to work these days due to class schedule, however this week my manager will be gone and I have to run the store myself. Thus is the job of an Assistant Manager at Gamestop. However, this doesn't mean that I won't be working on the project, and that I won't be keeping tabs with what is going on. For the first week I expect everything to run as originally planned. Here is what I expect to happen:

Tuesday: Touch base, everyone get together and talk about what needs to be done for the next 10 weeks. (make sure that someone is taking good notes during this meeting to keep me up to speed) The art team should expect to begin working closely with level designers to get the proper look and feel of each level. Final set of assets to be discussed, and playtesting should begin.

Thursday: continue to polish the game as planned and prepare to have levels cleaned up for presentation day.

I will be working on the following while gone:

Continuing to animate the gauntlet for the HUD. This is a key point in the project and I assure all of you I intend to make this as best as possible.

Polish the Presentation, when I come into class 2nd week of Tuesday expect to see a presentation completed. This time around its going to be pitch based instead of quick "Hey look this is what we worked on since last presentation" I'm still deeply sorry for the debacle that was our last presentation and not only did I let myself down but I let all of you down. I will continue to remember that with these presentations its not only my reputation that's on the line but all of yours as well.

Continue to work as if I was there, again I apologize for this unfortunate set up. These are the cards I've been dealt, and I've already tried to negotiate to work around my school schedule but no dice. I hope to see updates on the blog to see where we're at throughout the week so I can give advice accordingly. I will also try to stop by for the class if I'm able to do so. Better late than never.

Thanks for your continued understanding and cooperation team. This is a rarity, an extreme one at that, and you all know that I wouldn't miss this class for anything unless if something had occurred beyond my control.

later days
